What information we collect about you.
How we use the information that we hold on you.

When you make a booking with us we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying with us, their addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and car registration number.
We also collect details of a debit or credit card and the address to which the card is registered. This is in order to take a deposit equal to the first night's stay.
We use your address as part of the card payment processing to validate the payment.
We use your e-mail address to send you confirmation of the booking and to communicate any other details about your stay.
We may use your telephone number if we cannot contact you by e-mail or it may be deemed a quicker way to contact you if necessary.
If you do not have an e-mail address then we would use your postal address to send you a confirmation letter.

How your data is stored.

All details that we collect are stored securely, either in a locked case or a locked room or on our computer which is password protected.

Guest Registration

We are required by law to collect the following information on all guests. We do so by asking you to complete a registration form on arrival.
For Commonwealth guests: Name and nationality.
For Non Commonwealth guests: Name, nationality, passport number and address of next destination.
In addition our registration forms require your address, telephone number, e-mail address & car make & registration number.
We will keep this information safely in a secure place. We are required to show them to the police if they request to see them.

Surveillance Cameras

We have 4 surveillance cameras

  • One views the reception area and main entrance
  • One views the dining room
  • One views the lounge/bar area
  • One views the exterior at the back of our property.

We use these cameras for the security of our property, ourselves, our family and our guests. They also enable us to see where our guests are and it is therefore much quicker and easier to see when the guests require attention.

The data is recorded securely and stored for 10 days. The only people to have access to this data are the owners of The Hermitage. This data would be given to the police if the situation required this to be so.
